Grace Lucy’s story isn’t easy to read, but it’s the kind of emotional intensity I crave. The expanded edition really fleshes out her inner world and the haunting dreams that blur past and present. At times, Damien frustrated me—I couldn’t decide if I wanted to scream at him or root for him—but that’s part of what makes their relationship so compelling.
